Luke 5: 4-6 Now when he (Jesus) had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

Why was it so important for Jesus to tell the disciples to "launch out into the deep" before letting down their nets again? It's simple: He knew that was where the fish were!  What they had been searching for would not be found by remaining in the shallows, but by trusting the word of the Master and going deeper than what they were used to!

Jesus is still calling people to trust His word and follow his direction, wherever it may lead. The goal of The Deep Student Ministries is to equip and encourage students to answer that call, leave the shallow behind, and launch out into the deep where God's purpose and promises are waiting to be revealed in them.
